Aswan is a city located in the southern part of Egypt, on the eastern bank of the Nile, an important tourist center and a very lively shopping center.
In modern times the old town has been expanded and includes the community previously separated from Elephantine Island. Aswan Waterfall has been the border between ancient Egypt and neighboring Nubia for centuries. That s why today, many inhabitants of Aswan and neighboring villages are of Nubian origin, different from other Egyptians, they have a darker skin color and a taller stature.
